Who we are

Center for Civic Participation and Democracy (CPD) is a unit of research analysis, and evaluation of citizen participation in the democratic process, both at the national and European level.
Created at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), CPD brings together experts in areas such as Political Science, Sociology, Administrative Sciences, Communication, International Relations and European Studies and it underlines the SNSPA role and status as School of governance.
CPD has an interdisciplinary team of academics, researchers, doctoral students, graduate students, practitioners in public policy and social sciences, and other specialists engaged in the theoretical and empirical research of the social phenomena.

What we do

Center for Civic Participation and Democracy (CPD) conducts research and develops projects on public participation and communication, democratic values and sustainable development.
Having an important practical dimension, CPD produces analyses and forecasts on the evolution of the social space in order to improve the policymaking process.
To disseminate its research and studies, CPD organizes seminars and conferences and cooperates with other research centers in Romania, the European Union and the United States.
CPD also supports the training of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students, by involving them in specific activities.
