The data analyzed in this report is relevant for October 1 – December 31, 2021.
In this analysis, we were interested in discovering the most viral Romanian Facebook content related to a number of state actors and international organizations relevant for Romania: the EU, NATO, the US, Germany, France, the UK, Israel, Russia, China.
Our Center extracted data using CrowdTangle, a public insights tool owned and operated by Facebook.
Here are some of the findings:
- This 3-month period featured a considerably smaller proportion of pandemic and vaccine-related viral content related to the analyzed geopolitical actors.
- The volume of mentions of NATO, the EU, and Russia increased noticeably, reflecting the Ukraine developments towards the end of the year.
