Summary

  • For all the actors included in the analysis, with the exception of NATO, the number of total mentions decreases in August, as compared to July. The US returns to the top of the rankings, whereas the European Union drops to third place.

  • Most of the actors included in the analysis are present in the media especially in relation to the COVID epidemic dynamic.

  • There are nevertheless exceptions – the US, NATO or the Russian Federation are institutional actors visible rather through their geopolitical interactions. Moreover, Israel is seen also through the lens of the Middle Eastern dynamics.

  • At the same time, the EU, Germany, or France are visible as the result of the official reactions to the events in Belarus, or to the Alexei Navalny incident.
