Summary
- Two main topics generated mentions and views for most of the international actors in the analysis. These are the customs tariffs imposed by the Trump administration and the discussions about peace in Ukraine. Additionally, internal political developments (Germany, Israel), the conflict in the Gaza Strip (Israel), bilateral relations (Romania – USA), and the technical incident that affected the functioning and resilience of the power grids in France (especially the Iberian Peninsula) were also significant.
- The United States maintains the top position in the ranking of mentions, holding a dominant status. At a considerable distance follow Ukraine and the EU, with Russia in fourth place. Compared to March, almost all states and international organizations included in the analysis recorded decreases in the number of mentions. The exceptions are the USA, with a slight, rather insignificant decrease (thus, a minor fluctuation in mentions), and especially China, which recorded a significant increase in this indicator.
- The USA continues to hold the top position in the ranking of views (estimated impact of mentions), followed, as in the previous month, by Ukraine and Russia. The EU remains in fourth place. Compared to the previous month, almost all analyzed actors recorded decreases in views. The only exception is China, with both mentions and the impact of those mentions increasing.
- Almost all monitored actors were mentioned primarily in online press sources. The only exception, albeit partial, was NATO, with a similar number of mentions in both online press and Facebook.
- The contribution of local sources to the total number of mentions for each international actor ranges from nearly 9% (Israel) to almost 22% (Germany).
