Summary

  • The EU dominates the top of the mentions and the top of the viewership, followed by the USA and Germany. Israel and the EU are on the rise, while Russia, the United Kingdom and NATO are declining in terms of number of mentions.
  • Compared to the previous month, the EU and the US maintain their positions, but Germany and Russia exchange places, ie the first rises to third place, and the second lowers a position. The United Kingdom remains in the middle of the rankings, but has fewer mentions. France also maintains its position, but the number of mentions increases slightly compared to the previous month. Instead, Israel leaves the last position and is ahead of China and NATO.
  • Compared to the previous month, there is an increase, for all monitored actors, in terms of the number of views (impact of mentions), especially for the EU and Israel. The exceptions are the United Kingdom, which is relatively constant, as well as Russia and NATO, which have a moderate decline.
  • The EU, Germany, Russia, Israel, and China have the most mentions on social media, while the USA, Great Britain, France and NATO are mentioned more in the online press. However, as an impact, for all the actors monitored, the online press is over social media. China is an exception, with a greater impact of mentions on social networks.
  • In May, the states and international organizations included in the analysis gained visibility in association with elements and events such as: the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic and vaccination, the hijacked plane by the Belarusian authorities, the Israel-Hamas conflict, regional geopolitics (developments in the area of defense and security) etc.
