Summary
The data analyzed in this report is relevant for July 1 – September 30, 2021.
In this analysis, we were interested in discovering the most viral Romanian Facebook content related to a number of state actors and international organizations relevant for Romania: the EU, NATO, the US, Germany, France, the UK, Israel, Russia, China.
Our Center extracted data using CrowdTangle, a public insights tool owned and operated by Facebook.
Here are some of the findings:
- Several Eurosceptic and/or anti-vaccine influencers (such as Terhes or Sosoaca) are recurrent sources of messages that received high volumes of interactions.
- For the first time in 2021, posts about the EU included here (albeit a limited selection of top 3 for each category) are dominated by Eurosceptic content, mostly (but not exclusively) pandemic-related.
