Summary

  • In the month of August, the Russian Federation ranks first both in the list of mentions and in that of their impact. In the top list of mentions, the EU is still in second place, maintaining its position since July, although it has registered a consistent decrease in the number of mentions. Similar to the situation in July, the USA follows in the ranking, even if in this case too there is a slight decrease in the number of mentions.
  • Unlike the previous month, the Russian Federation and the USA are ahead of the European Union in the top of views.
  • Although NATO is ahead of France or Great Britain in terms of number of mentions, only Israel (ranked last in both lists) is behind of NATO in terms of the impact of mentions.
  • For almost all the actors included in the analysis, there are more mentions on social networks, but those in the online press have the highest impact.
  • With few exceptions, most of the mentions throughout the month are influenced by/related to the war in Ukraine.
  • One time that generated a distinctly high number of mentions is in early August and concerns the US-China relationship amid tensions over Taiwan.
